World Breastfeeding Week: Giving Every Child the Best Start in Life
World Breastfeeding Week, observed every first week of August, reminds us of the vital role breastfeeding plays in the health and development of babies.
Breast milk provides all the nutrients a baby needs during the first six months of life. It also contains antibodies that help protect babies from infections, reduces the risk of childhood illnesses, and supports healthy growth and brain development.
Tips for Parents
- 🤱 Breastfeed exclusively for the first six months of life, where possible.
- 🍎 After six months, continue breastfeeding while introducing appropriate complementary foods up to two years and beyond.
- 💙 Seek support from your healthcare provider if you experience any breastfeeding challenges.
Key Message
Breastfeeding is one of the best gifts a mother can give her baby. With the right support and encouragement, every child can have a healthier start to life.
💙 World Breastfeeding Week
