**Important Ebola Awareness Information**

Dear Valued Patient,

At The Pediatric Center Children Hospital, your health, safety, and well-being remain our top priorities.

Following the confirmation of an Ebola case in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), we wish to reassure you that we have implemented enhanced infection prevention and control measures to protect our patients, visitors, and staff while ensuring the continued delivery of safe, quality care.

**What to Expect When You Visit Our Hospital**

As part of our enhanced safety measures, a designated screening area has been established in front of the hospital reception. All patients and visitors are kindly required to:

– **Check their temperature:** This helps us identify individuals with a fever who may require further assessment, as fever can be an early sign of infection. A temperature check alone can not confirm or rule out Ebola.
– **Sanitise their hands:** Hand hygiene helps reduce the spread of infectious agents and protects you, other patients, and our healthcare workers.
– **Cooperate with screening procedures:** Please follow the instructions of our designated staff, who will guide you through the process and provide further assistance where necessary.

**Important Ebola Awareness Information**

Ebola is a serious infectious disease transmitted through direct contact with the blood or other body fluids of an infected person or someone who has died from the disease or through contact with contaminated materials.

Symptoms may include fever, severe weakness, headache, muscle pain, vomiting, diarrhea, and, in severe cases, unexplained bleeding. These symptoms can also occur in other illnesses and do not necessarily indicate Ebola.

If you have recently traveled to an area reporting Ebola cases, had contact with a suspected or confirmed case or develop concerning symptoms following a possible exposure, please contact the hospital for guidance before arriving so that appropriate precautions can be arranged.

**Our Commitment to Your Safety**

Please be assured that we are taking appropriate steps to strengthen infection prevention, support early identification of potential risks, and protect everyone who enters our facility.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation with these measures. Your participation is essential in helping us maintain a safe environment for everyone.

Thank you for your continued trust in The Pediatric Center Children Hospital.

Warm regards
