A Healthy Pregnancy Starts with Regular Checkups

World Preeclampsia Day

World Preeclampsia Day is observed every year on May 22nd to raise awareness about preeclampsia, a serious condition that can occur during pregnancy. It is usually marked by high blood pressure and can affect both the mother and the baby if not detected early.

This day reminds us of the importance of regular antenatal care, early diagnosis, and proper medical attention. Symptoms may include severe headaches, swelling, blurred vision, and pain in the upper abdomen, and should never be ignored.

Although preeclampsia can be dangerous, it can be managed effectively when identified early. With proper care, many women go on to have safe deliveries and healthy babies.

World Preeclampsia Day encourages education, support for expectant mothers, and improved healthcare services to protect lives.

In simple terms, it is a day to create awareness, promote early care, and ensure safer pregnancies for all mothers.
